Our Objective
At Altura, we believe the body functions as an interconnected system. Our mission is to support its natural ability to adapt, regulate, and heal by identifying and addressing restrictions that may influence movement and function.
Restrictions within the fascia, muscles, ligaments, joints, nervous system, and visceral structures can affect how forces are distributed throughout the body and how efficiently it moves.
Through osteopathic care, we aim to improve mobility, encourage balanced mechanics, and support better communication between the systems that contribute to the body’s overall function.
Rather than focusing solely on where you feel discomfort, we look at the body as a whole to understand how its different parts work together.
About Tim

I have always believed in living an active and healthy lifestyle. From the age of five, I was involved in every sports team my school had to offer. That passion for movement continued into high school, where I played football and competed in track and field.
My love for sports and understanding how the body moves led me to pursue a degree in Kinesiology at the University of Guelph-Humber. Through my studies, I developed a strong foundation in anatomy, biomechanics, injury prevention, exercise, and rehabilitation. More importantly, I developed a deeper appreciation for how the body moves and adapts as a whole.
After university, I became involved in combat sports and quickly fell in love with Muay Thai. Training in Muay Thai gave me a different perspective on movement. I began to understand how the body must work together as an integrated system to generate power, maintain balance, and move efficiently. The position and movement of one part of the body can have a significant impact on another.
This experience strengthened my desire to work in a rehabilitation setting where I could look beyond an isolated injury or area of discomfort and understand how the body functions as a whole. This is what ultimately led me to osteopathy at the Canadian Academy of Osteopathy.
What drew me to osteopathy was its way of thinking. Osteopathy recognizes that the different systems and structures of the body are interconnected, and that a restriction or dysfunction in one area can influence how another area functions. This approach aligned closely with how I had come to understand the body through my experiences in kinesiology, sports, and Muay Thai.
For me, osteopathy provides an opportunity to combine my passion for movement, rehabilitation, and the human body with a hands-on approach focused on the individual as a whole.
